Restoring grandeur to a tired period property by extending the footprint to create a sophisticated, open-plan entertaining suite.
Architectural Extension: A considered side extension has significantly expanded the internal volume, relieving the cramped original layout to allow for a generous, open-plan configuration.
Restorative Preparation: We stripped back decades of ad-hoc alterations and cosmetic "cover-ups" to reveal the building's true shell, levelling the floors to establish a seamless, threshold-free foundation.
Social Connectivity: The newly unified space is designed specifically for hosting, replacing a disjointed layout with a luxurious backdrop for dinner parties and social gatherings.
Reviving a Period Classic
This project was an exercise in peeling back the layers of history to reveal the home's true potential. The original kitchen was tired, compromised by years of makeshift alterations and restrictive planning. Our approach was to strip the space back to its structural core, removing the accumulated layers to create a clean, robust slate for a high-specification renovation.
By integrating a structural side extension and meticulously levelling the floorplate, we have transformed a run-down utility space into a breathtaking, expansive volume. The result is a kitchen and dining area that exudes luxury and calm—perfectly zoned for modern entertaining. We are thrilled to be continuing this journey as we move into Phase 2 of the property’s transformation.
