New Kitchen? Heaven or Hell?

Do you dream about the endless possibilities of a new kitchen or does it fill you with fear?

Will you derive pleasure from creating culinary delights like Jamie, Gordon or Nigella or maybe you would rather, close the door and dial a just eat?

Don't you just hate it when you're standing at the sink, washing dishes, looking at the ever-growing black mould around the worktop or you open a drawer and the front falls off and everything falls to the floor?

So where do you start? At the beginning!

Before you go on a journey, you need to know the destination, otherwise you will get lost.

I think the best way to start any task is to do a brain dump! Yes, a list, write down absolutely everything, get all the information out of your head and put it on paper or type it out.

There doesn't need to be any organisation at this stage, just get it off your chest.

  • What really annoys you? NO DISHWASHER? LACK OF SPACE, BAD LAYOUT List them all.

  • What do you really want in your kitchen? An island, a pull out larder, an American fridge freezer, or perhaps even a boiling water tap. What are your must-haves? List them too.

  • Remember: A well thought out kitchen should last you around 15years so it's worth investing time and having a realistic budget to get exactly the way you want it.
